Handling heavy UPS Batteries inevitably poses a challenge. Depending upon how they are stored and handled, associated risks of injury and damage can be severe as well as expensive. Alum-A-Lift has successfully solved battery handling problems at a number of such installations. It would be ideal if installations were standard. However, it has been found that installations vary with respect to space, layout, location and method of storage.

 Handling is required either as a random event or as a result of systematic, scheduled events. Common problems include gaining access to each storage room as well as to each battery in a bank. Additionally, batteries differ with respect to shapes, dimensions, weights and configurations. As a result there is no "standard" lifting device that can be considered as universal. Having designed a number of battery lifts since 1991, Alum-A-Lift has accumulated a useful body of knowledge that can be applied to many new applications saving time and cost.
